We are educators, administrators, students, hobbyists and experts that unify together to provide solutions based approach to learning STEM. Benefits of a Community Hackathon
PREMISE In a race to tackle the declining health outcomes for our community and society at large, we decided, in these tough economic times, to inspire people to use STEM to join the fight along with incentives, opportunities and +prizes for our students. CHALLENGE You have 19 days (Sunday April 10, 11:00AM EST - Friday April 29th, 11:59PM EST) for your team (1-4 people) to develop a your product, app or design idea and video submission. This is not meant to be a copy of someones work, but rather your own design through the facilitation of modern technology. YOUR TASK Develop a software solution that has its own system for health issues and/or users to increase positive outcomes with their individual health and wellness. WHEN Start Date: Friday, April 10, 2022 End Date: Thursday April 29, 2022 11:59PM EST Winners Announced: on Live on ZOOM Thursday, May 5th 1:30 to 3:30PM EST COMPETITION GUIDELINES Team Guidelines All Participates must currently attend CECHS grades 6 - 12. The more people consider for a team, the more the prize split. Your team can be up to 1-4 people. All members must register for the competition, and also specify their team name with fellow team members. Rubric Technical Complexity Practicality Presentation of Product Quality of Features Are your features meaningful and add to the overall quality of the product? Accessibility Will your solution work in places most impacted by systemic injustices? Mobile? UX Design Does your UX Design consider a wide variety of applications. Comprehensive Project Does your solution have comprehensive features or does it look like you just put something together? Do you tackle multiple problems at once? Effectiveness Does it actually solve a problem concerning health and wellness? Code Cleanliness Is your code easy to understand? Efficiency Is your code efficient? Do you use an efficient algorithm? Portability and Usability Is your code easy to run and works on multiple systems? Originality of Work Is your idea novel or new? Do you not plagiarize and properly credit others for their contribution? |
